It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. And if the truly remarkable product is unattainable for whatever reason, the imitation can be quite successful and in rare cases outperform the original. E.g. Zune v iPod; Facebook v. MySpace; Lexus v. all its predecessors in the luxury car market. There’s always room for smart imitators.
