So it’s another gloomy, sunless day in October and by all indications the economy, though showing signs of “green shoots” is not where we would like it to be. Opinionators everywhere gab about what it will take to make things and people work again. But really nobody knows. And we’re all just hoping that if we get the flu, regardless of which kind, it will be a short and not too unpleasant experience. In times like these it would of course be easy to curl up in bed under a blanket, waiting to emerge when things get better. But it doesn’t work that way. It is said that if tomorrow doesn’t come you’ve got to be willing to go out and fetch it.
All around us are signs of interesting and exciting developments from those who continue to refill as soon as the glass starts to look half-empty. Newly unrolled are, Windows 7 for easier browsing, Nook for reading in bed, and the iMac, faster with bigger LED displays, environmentally friendly, free of toxins and made from recyclable materials – who knew. There are apps for using your smart phone as a flashlight or a magnifier and even one for expensing your steak without your bosses catching on, though it isn’t known who would want to do that. In someone else’s words – “You can rest your head on the corner of your bed. You can watch the world go by. But you’re never gonna know what the other people know, if you’re always gonna be a Sleepy Joe.”
Just for the fun of it here are some interesting designs with typography … enjoy.
